Teamonk was a part of the World Food 2017 event that Honorable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi, inaugurated on 3rd November 2017 from Vigyan Bhavan New Delhi. This event was amongst the most anticipated international mega food events. It was a brilliant congregation of global investors and business leaders of major food companies. For the first time India had hosted such an event for the Food processing sector. World Food India platform has strengthened India’s position as a Global Food Factory and is a positive step towards making the Country’s Food Secure.

Being a vegetarian and mushroom lover the two dishes that I really enjoyed and would recommend were the steamed mushroom and waterchestnut dim sum and cilantro hoisin mushroom skewers. These two were the tastiest but, the most interesting was the dessert called AisKacang. I’d describe it as the Malaysian version of an ice gola but with more character. But here’s Nasi & Mee’s actual description, it’s a malaysian ambrosial concoction created out of shaved ice, red beans, cream corn, water chestnut & sweet syrup with toppings. Sounds interesting and tempting, doesn’t it?

We’re substituting sugar with jaggery which is a healthier alternative and using half a cup of wheat so you definitely won’t feel as guilty while indulging in the delicious carrot cake.

1/2 cup oil
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup crushed pineapple
1 cup flour (1/2 cup maida + 1/2 cup wheat)
